Farm Credit Welcomes Miltenberger as Lending Intern

Farm Credit of the Virginias (FCV), a lending cooperative that serves Virginia, West Virginia and western Maryland, announced that Katie Miltenberger has joined the Association as a lending intern in the Harrisonburg branch.

Originally from Fort Ashby, W. Va., Miltenberger currently resides in Morgantown, W. Va. while attending West Virginia University (WVU). She is a rising junior studying finance and accounting in the Chambers College of Business and Economics at WVU. Miltenberger grew up on her family’s farm, which raises corn and soybeans. She has been involved with 4-H since a young age, attending 4-H camps throughout West Virginia, as well as national events and conferences, and she is currently serving as Treasurer of her collegiate 4-H Club. Miltenberger was also active in her high school’s FFA chapter, serving as an officer, and she is currently pursuing her American FFA Degree. At WVU, she is a member of the Women in Business Club and the West Virginia Extension Visiting Committee.

In addition to her extracurricular activities, Miltenberger also has a variety of work experiences in agriculture. She has worked at Brookedale Farm in their greenhouse and corn maze, White Barn Farmers Market as well as the WVU Extension Service, where she had the opportunity to lead 4-H camps around the state.

Miltenberger is excited to bring a fresh perspective to her internship. She shared, “I am looking forward to learning more about Farm Credit’s loan products and helping to raise awareness for their support of the agricultural community.”

Sidney Rabon, Regional Sales and Lending Manager, said, “We are glad to have Katie with us in the Harrisonburg branch this summer, and to have the opportunity to show her all that Farm Credit of the Virginias offers to our rural community. Her knowledge of both agriculture and finance will be an asset to our team. We hope this experience allows Katie to learn more about the areas she is interested in.”

In her spare time, Miltenberger enjoys being outdoors, working out and spending time with family and friends. She also enjoys reading, learning to play guitar and traveling.
