Farm Credit Welcomes Scofield as Credit Intern

Farm Credit of the Virginias (FCV), a lending cooperative that serves Virginia, West Virginia and western Maryland, announced that Morgan Scofield joined the Association as a credit intern at the Verona Operations Center in Staunton, Va.

Originally from Richmond, Va., Scofield is living in Wintergreen, Va. for the summer. She is a rising junior at Virginia Tech, double majoring in Animal & Poultry Sciences and French. She was first exposed to the agriculture industry through working and riding at a horse farm. Scofield is a member of the Montgomery County Animal Shelter and has worked with the Winterfrost Farm horse rescue program, which is based in Radford, Va.

Scofield’s background includes time as a lesson assistant at The Villages Polo Club and as a summer camp counselor at James River Equestrian Center.

Scofield is looking forward to gaining insight and experience in agricultural lending. She shared, “As I am bilingual and have been immersed in two cultures since childhood, I feel I have a unique perspective on how to interact with others, which I’m excited to apply to my responsibilities here at Farm Credit.”

Jill Richter, Credit Manager, said, “We are glad to have Morgan join the credit department at FCV this summer. She will have the opportunity to explore the role of a credit analyst and add new skills as she looks toward her future. In turn, we look forward to Morgan’s perspective and ideas she can provide to our department this summer.”

In her spare time, Scofield loves to read, go on walks and spend time with animals at barns or shelters.
